Technology Careers

Careers in information and communication technology (ICT) are a buoyant and growing sector for employment, and a key economic factor underpinning both national and international development. This growth in employment, however, has not led to a parallel increase in jobs for women in the ICT labour market, with the female to male ratio being particularly pronounced at senior levels. In fact, with the general growth of job opportunities in the sector, women’s employment figures in advanced economies are in decline, which suggests that the issue is not just an entry level problem but may also be one of recruitment, retention, including making the ICT work environment more attractive, and lack of promotion of women within the sector.

Question by z2010: How difficult is it to pursue a career in Diagnostic Medical Sonography?
I attended a community college right out of high school but i messed up so i did not receive any credits. I am now attending a university, my first year here. This university is quite small (davenport university) . Im interested in going into the Medical field but the only medical major they have here is Medical Assisting. I decided to go for medical assisting, but after doing some research. I could probably make more money working at a factory and i’ve heard that its not worth going for. So now, I am deciding to transfer to a different university, Grand Valley State University, which is much bigger. Btw, I live in MI ! They have a a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program which I am really interested in. I don’t really much about it but this is my set major. My question is for anyone who is pursuing this profession, how difficult will it be? I know I can do it if I try my best, but I dont want to be set on it if its too hard for me. Advice? Opinions? Thank You :)
